Being a global citizen means identifying with an
ever-growing global community and actively contributing to positive growth
within the community. It is important to identify with a global community, but
that doesn’t mean you have to travel far or abandon your personal identity. To
become a global citizen, you should have an open mind, educate yourself, get
involved in your community, and travel when possible. In the way of making
children understand and getting involved about how to be a global citizen, Edify
School Patna with AIESEC India made an opportunity for people around the world
to have an internship in their schol. Later, Edify School Patna interviewed
several candidates from different countries and decided to choose a girl from
Indonesia that has been working as a teacher and educator for past 5 years.
Dwi Alfia Rizkiyani is An Educational Practicist
that came along from indonesia after 24 hours journey. She has a computer
engineering background and love teaching. Her experience with children in her
social community and previous working will help her to connect. She will stay
for a year in Edify School Patna to be a spoken english assistant and also will
help the social media marketing. She feels very excited about the experience that she will have in
Edify School Patna and will do her best to get involved with the children and
all the staff members. This oppportunity will be used for the students in Edify
School Patna to know the good way to be a global citizen. The students and also
teachers can share about cultural backgrounds and what that means to them. It
is positive and necessary to respect the values of a global community, but it
is also important to learn about them. They will also practice their english in
a very active way. Because Edify School Patna understands, there are many
benefits that come from learning a new language. It is the best way to get to
know another culture, become more open-minded, and bridge cultural gaps.
Learning another language can seem daunting, but it is possible with time and
dedication.
